Danh từ và dạng thức từ là gì?

Danh từ gọi tên người, vật, nơi chốn và khái niệm. Dạng câu phổ biến nhất của TOEIC Part 5 đưa ra bốn dạng thức của cùng một họ từ (ví dụ inform / information / informative / informatively) và hỏi dạng nào hợp chỗ trống — vì vậy nhận diện vị trí danh từ và hậu tố danh từ là kỹ năng giá trị nhất của bài thi.

Khi nào dùng

    Chỗ trống sau từ hạn định hoặc tính từ: Nếu chỗ trống đứng sau a/an/the, sở hữu từ hoặc tính từ, đáp án gần như chắc chắn là danh từ.
  • •
    Chỗ trống sau giới từ: Giới từ theo sau bởi danh từ hoặc danh động từ, không bao giờ là động từ nguyên.
  • •
    Người và vật trong cùng họ từ: Chọn giữa các dạng như 'employer / employee / employment' theo nghĩa: -er/-or là người thực hiện, -ee là người nhận, -ment là khái niệm.
  • •
    Bẫy danh từ không đếm được: Information, equipment, advice, furniture, luggage, research không bao giờ đi với a/an hoặc số nhiều -s.

Sau sở hữu từ (her), chỗ trống cần danh từ — 'dedication', không phải động từ 'dedicate'.

'Information' không đếm được — không bao giờ thêm -s số nhiều.

He is a trainee of the marketing employer program.

He is a trainee of the marketing training program.

Chọn thành viên họ từ theo nghĩa: chương trình dùng để đào tạo nên 'training' hợp; 'employer' là người.
