Cấu trúc 'as...as' diễn tả sự ngang bằng giữa hai sự vật. Dạng phủ định (not as/so...as) diễn tả sự không ngang bằng. Các từ tăng cường (just as, almost as, twice as) bổ sung mức độ.

Cấu trúc

So sánh ngang bằng

as + adjective/adverb + as (Our service is as fast as theirs.)

So sánh không ngang bằng

not as / not so + adjective + as (This model is not as reliable as the original.)

Từ nhấn mạnh

just as | almost as | nearly as | twice as | three times as + adjective + as

Với danh từ (số lượng)

as much / as many + noun + as (We have as many clients as last year.)

Lỗi phổ biến

The new model is not so reliable than the original.

...not so reliable AS the original.

Trong cấu trúc as...as, dùng 'as' (không dùng 'than').

She works as efficient as her colleague.

She works as efficiently as her colleague.

So sánh cách thực hiện hành động: dùng TRẠNG TỪ (efficiently), không dùng tính từ.
